Introduction Jean Simard, holds a Doctorate degree in Educational Technology from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto, a Master of Education degree in Computer Applications, an MBA from École des sciences de la gestion, UQÀM, and a Bachelor of Education degree in Adult Learning. Jeans expertise includes instructional design, training delivery, and multimedia applications for learning and performance support. In various training management appointments, he supervised the analysis, design, delivery and evaluation of classroom sessions. As well, he has managed on-the-job learning support materials for the implementation of a large-scale inventory and accounting computerized point-of-sale systems. Dr. Simard has designed and delivered courses in Instructional Systems Design and Training Delivery for a number of organizations including the Canadian Forces Supply Depot and Laurentian University. As well, he has managed train-the-trainer sessions and supported on-job learners in industrial environments, namely for the petro-chemical industry and the hospitality business. As a professor at Georgian College, at Université de Moncton, at Université de Montréal, at UQAT and at UQÀM, Dr. Simard has taught computer applications across the curriculum, communication and management practices, Human Resources Management, Communication Management, IT applications in teaching and training, educational technology and ISD processes. He has used multimedia, distance delivery methods and CD-ROM technology to teach numerous courses in the field. Jean has also managed many research projects related to Instructional Systems Design in both industrial and educational environments. He has written extensively on the subject of Human Performance, Educational Technology and Training / Teaching in educational, organizational and industrial settings. Jean is fluent in English and French. |
